The Toastmasters program is a proven path to better speaking, and Capital Toastmasters I gives you an outstanding opportunity to participate. We are an independent club not affiliated with any employer or organization, and we are open to all members of the community.</p> <p>There is a joining fee set by Toastmasters International. This covers your registration and materials. Capital Toastmasters I is dues-supported, and we charge both local and international dues. As of August 2011, dues are $40 per quarter.</p> <p>The initial payment consists of a prorated local dues payment plus the Toastmasters International registration fee. Thereafter, the dues will consist of quarterly payments of $40 (the dues may rise slightly in 2012 due to an increase in the Toastmasters International dues).</p> <p>To determine the amount of your initial payment, please contact our treasurer, Cara Jablon, at <a href="mailto:rcjablon@aol.com">rcjablon@aol.com.</a></p> <p>Please note that we do not accept credit cards and payments must be made by check.</p> <p>After consulting with Cara, please fill out a Membership Application and write a check to Capital Toastmasters I for the appropriate amount.</p> <p>Please give the application and check to Cara or mail them to her at:</p>Cara Jablon<br />4573 Indian Rock Terrace NW<br />Washington DC 20007-2725<br /> <p>You will receive the basic Communication and Leadership manual and some other materials from TI and the magazine.
