Joining Capital Toastmasters I

Joining Capital Toastmasters I

Thank you for your interest in joining Capital Toastmasters I! The Toastmasters program is a proven path to better speaking, and Capital Toastmasters I gives you an outstanding opportunity to participate.

Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month (except for the 4th Tuesday in December and sometimes August) at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition Training Room, 8th Floor, 727 15th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005-2727. We are an independent club not affiliated with any employer or organization, and we are open to all members of the community.

Capital Toastmasters I is dues-supported, and we charge both local and international dues. You pay the international dues separately when you join, and thereafter the international dues are included in the local dues. The initial payment to Toastmasters International (TI) covers your materials.

The local dues are currently $70.00 per quarter, which goes primarily to pay for the lunch service. Local dues also cover the ongoing international dues of $54.00 per year, which includes the Toastmaster magazine and the various services of Toastmasters International (on the Web at www.toastmasters.org).

Please fill out membership application and write TWO SEPARATE CHECKS as follows:

-- A check to TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL for the New Member Fee of $20.00 plus the pro-rata International dues for the month you join. Please see the membership application for the pro-rata amount and write your check for the combined amount of $20.00 PLUS the pro-rata amount.

-- A separate check to CAPITAL TOASTMASTERS I for a pro-rata share of the local quarterly dues. If you join at the first meeting of the quarter (January, April, July, October), the amount is $60.00; otherwise:

If you join at or after the first or second meeting of March, June, September, or December, you will also owe the dues for the next quarter (an additional $70).

Please send these with your completed application to our Treasurer:
